My tutoring service provides instruction in the Orton-Gillingham (OG) approach, a multi-sensory, phonics-based methodology used to teach reading, writing, and spelling. OG is highly systematic, explicit and structured, and is tailored to the individual needs of the student. It focuses on the connection between sounds and symbols, and provides students with the opportunity to practice and apply the skills they are learning.
